This review is from: Duke Nukem Forever [Mac Download] (Software Download) I downloaded this game and within a week got notified the program used to verify the download "STEAM" was hacked and possibly my information, mailing address, passwords and so on were stolen. DO NOT DOWNLOAD GAMES ON AMAZON, they obviously don't take much responsibility for who they contract with. Other than this terribly ridiculous issue with amazon and "Steam" the duke game was fairly good. It is a lot more of puzzle solving and beating bosses in a predetermined way with no grey area to create your own style, thats why the game got a three out of five. I am not sure what people are talking about the graphics being bad or dated. The graphics are outstanding with all details set to max. The key is to turn off post processing in the graphics options and voila the game looks much better without the "out of focus" depth of field look. It also improves the framerate considerably as well. I do not have the "out of sync" issue another reviewer mentions so that problem is not the game itself causing that. All of my audio/video is perfectly in sync. Gameplay is hilarious and fun. Make sure to explore everything to enjoy this game to the fullest. Try to open all cabinets and doors and you will find hilarious surprises along the way. Stop to look at the paintings on the walls or the billboards on the streets. There is great humor to be found at every turn and it is the small details that make this game a lot of fun. I had the opportunity to play Duke Nukem Forever before it was released, and I played up to the levels after the "Queen Bitch" level, where you are outside, high up in the air climbing over the alien growth. The only reason I made it that far was because I am a fan of Duke and really wanted to see this through. So when Gearbox finally finished the game and proved all the skeptics wrong, I was stoked! Unfortunately, after playing, I canceled my preorder for the balls of steel edition. As much as I enjoyed the previous Duke games, even as a fan I can't justify paying $90 for this game. I've also been told by friends and other people that bought the balls of steel edition that the items are underwhelming. A predictable anti climax if you ask me. I am not sure what people are talking about the graphics being bad or dated. The graphics are outstanding with all details set to max. The key is to turn off post processing in the graphics options and voila the game looks much better without the "out of focus" depth of field look. It also improves the framerate considerably as well. I do not have the "out of sync" issue another reviewer mentions so that problem is not the game itself causing that. All of my audio/video is perfectly in sync. Gameplay is hilarious and fun. Make sure to explore everything to enjoy this game to the fullest. Try to open all cabinets and doors and you will find hilarious surprises along the way. Stop to look at the paintings on the walls or the billboards on the streets. There is great humor to be found at every turn and it is the small details that make this game a lot of fun. I had the opportunity to play Duke Nukem Forever before it was released, and I played up to the levels after the "Queen Bitch" level, where you are outside, high up in the air climbing over the alien growth. The only reason I made it that far was because I am a fan of Duke and really wanted to see this through. So when Gearbox finally finished the game and proved all the skeptics wrong, I was stoked! Unfortunately, after playing, I canceled my preorder for the balls of steel edition. As much as I enjoyed the previous Duke games, even as a fan I can't justify paying $90 for this game.
