Not so great., By = Fun: Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: PS3 160GB with Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows part 2 Blu-ray Disc Bundle (Video Game) First off, you are getting a PlayStation 3 and a Blu-Ray player that will never get out of date (some first generation BD players, and possibly newer generations, are not able to play new BD movies due to new security features on the disc). The PS3 is great. I was impressed immediately for the game of Uncharted 2. Works great with movies too. Just know you MUST use a HDMI cord and an internet connection (it does come with wireless or an ethernet port) to fully use the PS3's features.Now, on to Harry Potter: Note that this disc CANNOT BE USED ON A NON-3D TV! I was fooled by this when I got it in the packaging. Thinking it would be a good showcase movie. Nope. HOWEVER, the 3D version of Harry Potter is going for $30+ on Amazon. Sell it! The unit is much quieter than the original and because of its small size it is alot more convenient for my entertainment center that has a wii, xbox360 with kinnect and direct tv hd/dvr receiver. I also like you have to push a button for eject now, the touch button on my old one would accidently eject discs while my wife was dusting and remain on since she doesnt know how to operate, so far no problems with the slim. It has 2 usb ports on front like my original fatboy 40 gb did so not much of a difference there. The Harry Potter edition for the same price was an added perk, came with a blu-ray edition of the movie at the same cost of a slim without. Thanks amazon! I have owned the system for about a month now and wanted to give it a good test before I gave my review. First let's talk about what you get for your money, you get a game system,blu-ray player,free online play and a 3D Harry Potter. Seeing as how most decent blu-ray players are about $100 I thought this was a great deal. The games: most of the games are the same as the 360 but it does have its exclusives and they are all 5 star games so you won't be disappointed with them. Plus over the years the PS2 racked up nice collection of games and they are being released in HD collection for great prices. Also I have all there next gen systems so please don't think I'm a fan boy. I seem to play my PS3 with mostly single player games which is where the system really shines. My X360 when I need a online fix with friends. And my wii with the family. So all there systems have a place... Read more |
